If you have lived in one of the most dominant English speaking countries it will have been pretty hard for you to of not, at least, heard of the Science fiction legend DW! Now that DW is back on TV since 05 after it’s fifteen year pause the serial has gotten considerably well known all over again, so mush so in fact that even the sci-fi channel has taken an interest in the serial.

Thanks to the new serial DW is currently officially the longest running Sci-Fi series ever with the first episode broadcasted by the BBC on November the 23rd 1963, an episode in which the Dr. & his friends travelled back one hundred thousand years into Earth’s past to give a hand to some somewhat dim cavemen so that they could make the discovery of fire.

With the huge popularity of Dr. Who, the BBC started creating Doctor Who Audio back in the 70s on cassette and LP. In the beginning the BBC solely created soundtracks from the original TV series and then had the Doctors of the time add some binding narration for completion. But due to their popularity soon after stories were made specifically for Audio Book release exclusively, often narrated by past Doctors of the series.

To add to this the BBC began producing radio episodes, again with past Doctors who had played in the series, these stories were also made accessible in Audio format. Also a lot of of the lost shows have been re done by their original Drs in the Audiobook format making them finally available to the general public once again. Now the BBC’s DW Audiobook collection has over fifty titles all available in top notch Digital format at a reduced download price! The collection spans all the way though the 1st Doctor right up until the present Dr, David Tennant. Additionally Torchwood Audiobooks & Sarah Jane Audio have also been added in recent times.

One of the cool things about Doctor Who Audios is that they give us the freedom to listen to our favorite stories anywhere we please with the use of the modern mp3 player. Audio Books help us to obtain more out of our increasingly busier days, as it is so easy for as to listen to them while involved in additional everyday chores like working out, house work, driving, and and additional chores that allow us to multitask. Another great factor about audio titles is that they are in many cases narrated by their original actors, which really adds to the whole experience. They are also a excellent choice for long car rides, especially with kids as there’s nothing like a good Doctor Who episode to keep them busy.

The way things stand right now it looks like Dr. Who and its spin-off show torchwood and the Sarah Jane adventures are doing really well so things look good for us to be able to enjoy them for some years to come.
